- “Gigantic Form Energy Battery To Power Google Data Center in Minnesota” • Form Energyis still building its first commercial project, in Minnesota, but it just revealed that it has clinched a potentially game-changing follow-up to support a Google data center in the same state. The 300-MW battery will have an energy capacity of 30 GWh. [Canary Media]
- “Rising Temperatures Are Putting Tour De France Athletes’ Health At Risk, Study Finds” • Many of Europe’s biggest sporting events take place in the summer, but the progressive creep of climate change and resulting rising temperatures pose a growing threat to athletes, a study finds. Researchere specifically studied data for the Tour de France. [Euronews]
- “Ørsted To Begin Sunrise Turbine Work” • Ørsted is set to begin turbine installation on the 924-MW Sunrise Wind soon. Cadeler’s Wind Scylla jack-up vessel is currently docked in the port of New London. Ørsted’s mariners’ briefing says that when the Wind Scylla and supporting vessels resume work, they will be stationed in the Sunrise Wind array. [reNews]
- “Following 35% Growth, Solar Has Passed Hydro” • The US Energy Information Administration released full-year data on how the country generated electricity in 2025. The bad news is that overall demand rose enough that coal use went up. But solar continued its run of astonishing growth, generating 35% more than a year earlier. [Ars Technica]
