  • “Finland’s Plan To Bury Spent Nuclear Waste Carries Risk To Future Generations” • The world’s first facility for permanently disposing spent nuclear fuel is nearly ready to begin operations in Finland. It will be a final resting place for dangerous nuclear waste. But it will take hundreds of thousands of years before the radioactivity falls to normal levels. [ABC News]
  • “Oil Prices Rise Again And Asian Stocks Retreat On The Fragile Iran Ceasefire” • Oil rose again to above $97 a barrel and Asian stocks were trading lower Thursday on skepticism over a fragile ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran. Investors were closely watching whether a two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran was already slipping.   • “DESNZ Approves 800-MW Solar Giant” • The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero approved what would be the UK’s largest solar farm. The 800-MW Springwell Solar Farm in the east Midlands, developed by EDF power solutions UK and Luminous Energy, would produce enough power for around half the homes in Lincolnshire. [reNews]
  • “The US Just Had Its Warmest March Ever, And By A Historic Margin” • March 2026 was a historic month for temperatures in the US, fueled by an extraordinary and prolonged heat wave that shattered temperature records in much of the West, according to a new report released by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
