There is only ONE Public Service Commission meeting on this proposal scheduled for Wednesday, April 10 at the Red Barn, 99 Town Park Road, East Greenbush, NY 12061 from 2-3 pm for an information session followed by a public comment period from 3-4 pm, then again at 6 and 7 pm respectively.
Comments can be sent by USPS letter, by email, by telephone or spoken in person. The deadline for comments is April 24.
This event will support the Climate and Community Protection Act, which will comprehensively address the climate crisis by mandating a 100% renewable energy economy, create tens of thousands of quality jobs, and target funding to communities of color that have suffered the most from pollution. 4. DIVEST NY – Tuesday, April 30 from 10am to 2pm
Legislative Hearing on S2126 and A1536, bills that would require New York State to divest it’s pension fund from fossil fuels. Not only is it imperative that we stop funding fossil fuels that are destroying the planet, but financially, it is irresponsible to invest in gas, oil and coal when the world is committed to transitioning to renewable energy.
Senator Krueger and Assemblymember Ortiz are holding a hearing on Tuesday, April 30 from 10am to 2pm in the Legislative Office Building in Albany NY. Divest NY hopes to fill the room to show support for this legislation. You may also want to submit written testimony or attend a few lobby meetings in the afternoon.
