The Vermont Public Service Department (PSD), Agency of Natural Resources (ANR), and Agency of Commerce & Community Development (ACCD) are currently initiating efforts to implement elements of an interagency MOU aimed at assisting hydropower developers with understanding the hydropower permitting process and receiving timely and coordinated agency feedback on potential projects. As part of these efforts, the agencies are working to develop a program in which developers – through PSD as a central point of contact – will have the opportunity to apply for enhanced assistance, especially a coordinated interagency site visit and feedback early in project development, for projects that meet certain screening criteria.
We would like to invite all interested parties to provide written comments and input on the draft screening criteria, attached, by May 15, 2014. There will also be an in-person meeting to enable discussion between agencies and stakeholders and to allow for verbal feedback on April 29, 2014 from 1-3 p.m. in the Calvin Coolidge Room at the Agency of Commerce and Community Development, 1 National Life Drive, Montpelier.
