Bill McKibben, one of America’s top environmental advocates and the founder of 350.org, will present the seventh annual Norman Williams Distinguished Lecture in Land Use Planning and the Law.
The event is free and open to the public.
McKibben’s lecture, titled “The Most Important Number in the World,” will look at climate science and politics and the grassroots movement to combat global warming. He is the author of several books, including The End of Nature and the recent national best seller, Eaarth: Making a Life on a Tough New Planet, an account of the rapid onset of climate change. As the Schumann Distinguished Scholar in Environmental Studies at Middlebury College, he writes regularly for The New York Times, National Geographic and other publications.
